How does the diff algorithm work?

The tool compares texts line by line using a longest common subsequence algorithm, similar to the Unix diff command.

Currently, the tool works with text input. You can paste file contents into the text areas for comparison.

Is whitespace significant?

Yes, whitespace differences (spaces, tabs, trailing whitespace) are detected and shown as differences.
